8/22 - JVA earn last minute draw at Westerviile Central; Varsity not so fortunate
Mixed results in first road trip
The JVA squad faced a difficult opponent in Westerville Central, and fought hard, playing excellent defense until half-way through the 2nd half when Central broke through and scored. The match looked hopeless until a furious rally by the Wolves in the final minutes led to a thrilling ending when a cross by Erkan Erciyas was headed in by Oliver Kim with only 26 seconds left, earning the Wolves the 1-1 draw. The ending made it feel more like a win.
The Varsity was not so fortunate in the nightcap. The Wolves had some trouble with set pieces and could not muster much in the way of offense, leading to a disappointing 0-3 loss to WCHS in the first road match of the year.
Both clubs will look for better results on Saturday when they travel to SW Ohio for matchups vs Lakota West.
