2024 Pre-Season Mandatory Meeting!

Yes, the new 2024 Season prep is under way!

MESSAGE FROM COACH It is time for our annual spring meeting. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 24 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. We will meet in the auditorium at Worthington Kilbourne High School. This meeting is mandatory for players and at least one parent. The coaching staff will share the summer and fall calendar, discuss the expectations for August try-outs and the fall season, and answer any questions.

The Kickers Club (our parent group), will also be sharing information pertinent to the soccer season. There is much need from our entire group to ensure a successful and enjoyable season. If you know of anyone interested in trying out in the fall, please pass this email on to them. This would include any incoming freshman. For those who have been lifting this winter and early spring, the coaching staff will continue to provide access to the weightroom through the remainder of the spring on Mon/Wed/Fri after school. Thank you, Coach Sprunger --------------------------------

Fundraiser Alert!

WKHS Boys Soccer Families and Friends -

The Worthington Kilbourne Boys Soccer Team is conducting a squares game fundraiser for the Ohio State vs Notre Dame football game on Saturday, September 23rd.  No better way to give back to the program, while also getting some action in the game .  For those not familiar with squares games, here is how it works.

·             Once all the squares have been selected, we will randomly pick numbers from 0-9 for Ohio State and Notre Dame, and assign that number to a particular row or column. These numbers represent the last number in the score of each team. In other words, if the score is OSU 17 - ND 14, then the winning square is the one with an OSU number of 7, and an ND number of 4.

·             Squares are $25 each.

·       Payouts are as follows:

Winning(s) Breakdown for Squares

·       End of 1st Quarter: 10% ($250)

·       End of 2nd Quarter: 10% ($250)

·       End of 3rd Quarter: 10% ($250)

·       End of Game: 20% ($500)

·       Payout to Kilbourne Boys Soccer: 50% ($1,250)

If you’d like to participate, please use the following link https://www.superbowlsquares.org/vlvxmz to select your square(s).  You can subsequently Venmo payment ($25 per square) to @boys-soccer-wkhs.  Be sure to designate what the Venmo payment is for, so our Treasurers can easily track everything.  Any general questions, or don’t have a Venmo account, contact Chris Zimmerman (614) 402-8227 for support.

Game Recaps

JVB splits results this week

By The Kickers Club 09/29/2023, 1:15pm CDT

The JVB team split their 2 games this week.

On Monday, vs Whetstone, Ahmed Alijoria started the scoring off a great feed from Kellen Louk.  Nolan Schrader netted the second goal, taking advantage of a loose ball bouncing in the box, tucking it in with his right foot.  Final 2-1 Wolves.

On Wednesday, we hosted Thomas Worthington.  Despite maintaining the majority of possession and creating more scoring chances, Thomas got a fluke goal off a free kick in the first half.  Kudo's to Brayden Houk and Aiden Summers for superb play in the net.  Final 1-0 Cardinals.

JVA gets big win vs Thomas

By The Kickers Club 09/29/2023, 1:15pm CDT

Our JVA team hosted cross-town rival Thomas Worthington on Wednesday night.  It was a hotly contested match, with the Wolves earning a penalty kick late in the match.  Cam Ferris buried the PK, sealing a 1-0 victory for the Wolves.

Varsity earns 2 victories this week!

By The Kickers Club 09/29/2023, 1:15pm CDT

The Varsity team earned 2 impressive victories this week!

Tuesday night was the Wo-Town Showdown vs Thomas Worthington.  In a game that is always tight and intense, Ty Norton scored a beautiful curling shot off a perfect pass from Alex Vicente midway through the first half.  Our defense held strong and the Wolves had stellar goalkeeping from Kyle Hayes and Anthony Hernandez to bring the Thombourne Cup back to it's rightful home!

On Thursday, the Wolves traveled to Franklin Heights to earn a 6-1 victory with goals by Ty Norton (2), Will Pope, Alex Vincente, Zack Zimmerman and Elliot Kim.  Final 6-1 Wolves.

Website and app update

Thank you for your patience as we have worked through problems with the SportsEngine program. SE has instituted a change to their underlying program platform which they are forcing customers to move to, which precludes the ability to integrate with our historical data and our existing website.  We have found a workaround of sorts.  On the top header of our website the TEAMS tab only leads to the prior year teams pages.  For all current year teams, the Home tab has dropdown links to the 2023 Teams pages, each of which also include links to the new Team subsites. We will keep the main page updated.  On device apps, you may need to add your child's Team 2023 if it does not automatically appear.   Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or problems at the link below
